SE Systems specialise in helping organisations with complex energy requirements to find bespoke solutions that reduce their energy consumption and carbon emissions.

Headquartered in Cork, with regional offices in Dublin we serve our clients across all 4 provinces, including the islands off our coast. Founded in 2010, SE Systems are at the forefront of the energy efficiency industry delivering turnkey, energy-saving projects for residential, commercial, community, and public sector clients nationwide. We aim to lead the way in exemplar delivery of services that achieves impact in the realisation of Ireland’s Climate Action plan.

Meet the Team

At SE Systems, we acknowledge the indispensable role played by our team in shaping and implementing sustainable energy solutions. Their dedication and expertise are integral to driving our mission forward across Ireland.

Our core leadership team is comprised of Directors, Senior Management, Finance, Administration and Health & Safety Depts.

At operational level our inhouse expertise includes Energy Auditors, Energy Engineers, Surveyors, Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Marketing Manager, Technical Managers, Quality Assurance Managers, Grant Administrators, Graduate Engineers, Tenant Liaison, Communities Coordinator, Human Resources, Multi-disciplinary site operatives and retrofitting crews.

To complement our inhouse expertise, SE Systems also work in collaboration and partnership with a variety of external consultants, engineers, and specialist subcontractors.

Directors

John O'Leary

CEO & Co-Founder

With over 30 years of executive experience, John is a seasoned leader in the Domestic, Community and Commercial energy efficiency industry. As the co-owner and CEO of SE Systems, he oversees the company’s performance and strategic growth. Recognised for his excellent communication skills, John has fostered profitable strategic partnerships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders, ensuring SE Systems remains a market leader.

Youenn Lowry

Managing Director & Co-Founder

Youenn has 27 years of experience in diverse & technically challenging projects across various sectors and holds a Postgraduate Degree from UCC. As Co-Owner and Managing Director of SE Systems, he is committed to continuous improvement in the rapidly evolving energy efficiency market. His key attributes include leadership development, optimising personal and group effectiveness, and change management, all contributing to SE Systems’ growth in the industry.

Gillian Murphy

Financial Director

Gillian, a qualified FCCA accountant, serves as our Finance Director, responsible for overseeing all financial and HR matters. Since 2018 Gillian has played a pivotal role in the successful growth and development of our team and the expansion of our service offerings Nationally. She values SE Systems’ ethos, which places importance on prioritising employees, supporting communities, and giving back—a commitment she takes pride in contributing to.

Derrick Enright

Operations Director

Derrick, our Operations Director since 2021, brings over 35 years of construction industry experience. He excels in project management,contract organisation and project delivery, supporting our teams across Ireland. As former President of the National Association of Scaffolding and Access Contractors, he led the revision of Ireland’s Scaffolding Code of Practice and initiated the National Apprenticeship Scheme for Scaffolding.

Jason Collins

Technical Director

Since joining SE Systems in 2017, Jason has become a key team member. A certified PSCS with Honours Degrees in Sustainable Energy and Civil Engineering from MTU, he has a strong track record in managing multifunctional projects across diverse environments and he has in depth experience in the delivery of Government-supported Energy Efficiency programs. Jason’s expertise in project management methodologies, quality management systems, and technical standards ensures consistent quality in our service delivery.

Jake O’Connell

Commercial Director

Jake joined SE Systems in 2021 and became Commercial Director in 2022. With 17 years of experience in energy and electrical turnkey projects, he holds a First Class Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering & Electrical Power Systems and is a member of Engineers Ireland. Jake builds client relationships, drives commercial expansion and oversees all commercial & public sector projects. He also assists clients with funding mechanisms and decarbonisation roadmaps, and manages grant aid schemes.

Health & Safety

At SE Systems, safety is the fundamental core value. We’ve built a robust safety culture throughout our organisation, ensuring the protection of our team, subcontractors, customers, and everyone engaged in our operations. We take a proactive approach to health & safety which is a key part of the planning process in every project we deliver.

SE Systems proudly holds A Rated Safe-T-Cert accreditation tailored for certifying Safety Management Systems within the construction industry.

Our certification underscores our dedication to aligning with International Labour Organization (ILO) guidelines for Safety Management Systems. SE Systems supports all of its employees in continuous professional development within the Health and Safety field through the provision of training and experience which in turn build competence and awareness.

SE Systems employ the use of digital management in all operations and  this allows us to allocate resources effectively and standardise our project management approach. This, in conjunction with continuous training and toolbox talks ensure that safety standards are kept to the highest level for all of our projects nationally.

As a large portion of our work takes place in live homes, homeowner safety and homeowner welfare are paramount. Site safety and homeowner engagement are always kept at the highest priority to help us ensure that we can plan, operate and deliver all of our projects to the highest safety standards.

In addition to our adherence to safety standards, we recognise that a healthy and supportive work environment is essential for the safety, success and satisfaction of our team and of our project stakeholders.
Having registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme, SE Systems have made a commitment to conform to the Code of Considerate Practice. Through consideration, through community engagement, the environment and workforce wellbeing we strive to improve on our construction activity impacts and showcase the implementation of best practice approaches.

We continually invest in People, Quality Assurance, Health and Safety, Project Management Systems and Processes. This in turn allows us to consistently meet ambitious decarbonisation targets outlined in the National Climate Action Plan.

SE Systems boasts nationwide, in-house multidisciplinary teams, alongside a robust network of approved subcontractors. All personnel undergo a comprehensive training process to ensure a thorough understanding of all technical requirements and compliance with both inhouse and national Quality Assurance (QA) standards.

Process-Centric Approach

To streamline our QMS & PM processes, we have successfully introduced standard operating procedures nationally which facilitates the alignment of all stakeholders. This ensures that The Design Process / Install Process / Programming / QA Process / Commissioning / Hand Over and Induction Process and Maintenance is systematic nationally.

Integrated Systems

Our Project Management Software provides our teams with live data on every project and provides an efficient two-way system of communication and information flow between onsite working and database recording.

Quality Products

All products we use are NSAI, CE or Triple E approved. We are committed to using reliable and environmentally sustainable products in our projects where possible, aligning with our dedication to responsible and low carbon practices.
