At SE Systems, we believe in the power of communities to drive meaningful change. That’s why we created the SE Systems Community Fund—to support and empower not-for-profit organisations in delivering sustainable, energy-efficient solutions that make a lasting impact.
About the Community Fund
The SE Systems Community Fund helps non-profits, charities, and voluntary organisations secure funding for projects that improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
Launched in 2022, the fund is designed to drive long-term community benefits by providing financial support, technical resources, and expert guidance. Through commercial contributions, the fund enables SE Systems to deliver impactful, energy-saving projects that lower costs, shrink carbon footprints, and build more resilient infrastructure for the future for community organisations across Ireland.

How the Fund Works
The SE Systems Community Fund is made possible thanks to the incredible support, commitment, and generosity of our commercial partners and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI).
Those participating in SEAI Community Energy Grant projects allow us to champion community energy-saving initiatives that truly make a difference, improving living conditions, lowering costs, and delivering lasting environmental benefits.

The SE Systems Community Fund offers three funding streams:
Open Grant Opportunities
We run a series of open grant calls each year, allowing organisations to apply through our website. Each call has specific eligibility criteria, announced prior to the opening date. Summer call opens Tuesday, 27th May 2025.
Grants from Corporate Donors
Our corporate partners can nominate organisations in their communities for funding or support organisations that align with their charitable goals.
Strategic Impact Funds
In select cases, SE Systems may invite organisations to submit a funding proposal where their activities align with the Community Fund’s objectives or contribute to a Regional Community Energy Grant application.

What types of projects do you fund?
We support a wide range of energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives, including:
- Energy Audits – Identifying opportunities to cut energy waste and reduce costs.
- Building Fabric Upgrades – Improving insulation, windows, and doors to enhance energy efficiency.
- Renewable Energy Solutions – Installing solar PV, battery storage, biomass systems, or wind turbines.
- Technological Improvements – Replacing inefficient boilers with heat pumps or upgrading control systems.
- Heat Recovery Systems – Capturing and reusing wasted heat for improved efficiency.
- Energy Monitoring – Smart systems to track, manage, and optimise energy use.
- External Sports Lighting Upgrades – Installing high-efficiency lighting for outdoor sports facilities.
- EV Charging Infrastructure – Supporting sustainable transport with electric vehicle charging points.
