Ask me first

I’m organising the morning, so ask me anything before you commit. Ring me or drop me a line, and I will tell you straight whether it is worth your club’s time. Ann Cullinane Community Coordinator, SE Systems 086 817 4946

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Yes. Attendance is completely free, and refreshments and food will be provided on the morning. We just ask that you register in advance so we can plan for numbers.
The Summit is open to sporting clubs and community organisations across Munster, including GAA, Camogie, LGFA, soccer, rugby, athletics, tennis, golf and other sports. It will be particularly useful for club chairpersons, secretaries, treasurers, facilities and grounds officers, committee members and anyone involved in managing club facilities, energy costs or future projects.

Businesses can benefit from SEAI grants such as the Non-Domestic Microgeneration Scheme (NDMG), with support of up to €162,600, as well as tax incentives like the Accelerated Capital Allowance (ACA).

We manage the full grant application process on your behalf.

Absolutely. We encourage clubs to bring two or three representatives, particularly where different people look after finance, facilities, funding or club development. Each attendee should register individually.

Attendees will have the opportunity to enter a prize draw on the day, with three prizes available:

• €10,000 towards a sustainability project at your club
• €5,000 towards a sustainability project at your club
• A full energy audit from SE Systems

Eligibility and entry are subject to the full competition terms and conditions, and entrants must be present at the event.

No. You do not need to own your club’s building or facilities to attend the Summit or enter the prize draw. If your club rents or uses facilities owned by another organisation, the prize can still support an eligible energy or sustainability project at the facility your club uses. This could also provide an opportunity to work with the property owner to agree improvements that benefit the club and the facility in the longer term. Any project funded through the prize must go towards eligible energy or sustainability improvements at the facility and will be subject to the competition terms and conditions and any necessary agreement from the property owner.
No. You can attend even if your club is only starting to think about energy or sustainability. In fact, the Summit is designed to help clubs understand where to start, what options are available and what funding or support may be suitable.

Yes. That is a key part of the event. Exhibition stands will be open throughout the morning, giving you an opportunity to ask questions directly and discuss your club’s circumstances.

Exhibitors include SEAI, Grow Sport Ireland, Community Finance Ireland, PTSB, Cork County PPN, McSherry Electrical, NCE Relove Paint, Platinum Energy and SE Systems.

Topics will include solar PV, LED pitch lighting, heat pumps, metering, energy audits, energy efficiency improvements, grants and project finance. You do not need any technical knowledge to attend.
Yes. Tea, coffee, refreshments and food will be available during the morning and are included as part of the free event.
