Munster clubs invited to free sustainability summit at Páirc Uí Chaoimh, with €15,000 in prizes
SE Systems is inviting sporting clubs and community organisations across Munster to a free one-day summit at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday 19th September. Three clubs will leave with funding towards sustainability projects at their grounds.
Cork-founded energy company SE Systems hosts the Sustainable Sporting Summit. It brings together clubs, community organisations, funders and sustainability experts to look at practical ways to reduce energy costs and improve club facilities. Broadcaster Marty Morrissey will MC on the day.
The event is free to attend, but places are limited to 300. The summit specifically targets the people who make decisions about club buildings and bills. That means club chairs, secretaries, treasurers, facilities officers and development committee members.
€15,000 in prizes for club projects
We’ll draw three prizes will be drawn live on stage on the day, all sponsored by SE Systems:
- €10,000 towards a sustainability project at a club or community facility
- €5,000 towards a sustainability project
- A free professional energy audit (worth €3,000 approx.) identifying where a club is losing money and what they can do about it
Every registered club gets one entry into the draw, and a representative must be present when it takes place. We then pay the contributions against invoices for the works. Winning clubs are free to appoint whichever supplier they choose.
Why clubs are looking at this now
It’s a familiar story for club volunteers. Floodlights, hot water for the dressing rooms, and heating the club house all add up. Together, they make up the bulk of a typical club’s running costs.
Meanwhile, those bills land on volunteers who are already giving their evenings to fixtures, fundraising and pitch maintenance. Grant funding towards energy upgrades is available to all sporting organisations. But navigating the application process is where many clubs struggle.
We’ve designed the summit around closing that gap. Alongside the talks, engineers and grant specialists will run free one-to-one clinics on the exhibition floor. So, bring at least one recent electricity bill, and our team can give tailored advice to your organisation.

Who will be there
Around 10 organisations will exhibit on the day. They include SEAI, Community Finance Ireland, PTSB, Cork County PPN, Grow Ireland and Platinum Energy. The SE Systems team will be there too, covering solar PV, grants, heat pumps, metering and energy audits.
Alongside the exhibitors, talks begin at 10am, including a panel of clubs who have already completed energy upgrades. They’ll cover what they did, what it cost, and what they would do differently.
