SE Systems Shortlisted for Green Collaboration Award 2026

SE Systems Shortlisted for Green Collaboration Award 2026

SE Systems has been shortlisted as a finalist at the Green Awards 2026, receiving recognition in the Green Collaboration Award category for the Douglas Lions House project.

The Green Collaboration Award recognises projects delivered through strong partnerships that achieve meaningful environmental and social impact. This nomination highlights the collaborative approach taken by SE Systems and Douglas Lions in delivering a large-scale community energy upgrade project in Cork.

Green Awards 2026 finalist: A community energy collaboration

The award submission is titled SE Systems & Douglas Lions, reflecting the central partnership at the heart of the project. The Douglas Lions House retrofit demonstrates how a joined-up, One-Stop Shop can support communities in reducing energy use, cutting carbon emissions, and improving residents’ living conditions.

SE Systems acted as the delivery partner for the project, managing the full process from assessment and grant facilitation through to delivery and handover. While the award recognises the collaboration with Douglas Lions, projects of this scale are enabled through a wider partnership ecosystem, including support from the SE Systems Community Fund, and the SEAI Community Energy Grant (CEG).

Delivering measurable outcomes through community energy upgrades

The Douglas Lions House project delivered significant improvements in energy performance and comfort for residents, upgrading homes from a BER E1 to A1, the highest possible energy rating, while reducing energy costs for older and vulnerable residents.

A full overview of the project, including the approach taken and the outcomes achieved, is available in the Douglas Lions Club case study.

Green Awards 2026 ceremony and next steps

The winners of the Green Awards 2026 will be announced at the awards ceremony taking place on Tuesday, 24 February 2026 at the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, Dublin.

SE Systems is proud to see the project recognised among Ireland’s leading sustainability initiatives and to showcase the impact that collaborative, community-led energy upgrades can deliver.
