The Three Types of Energy Audits We Offer
At SE Systems, we provide three distinct types of energy audits, tailored to a diverse range of building types, from commercial properties and manufacturing plants to retail units, educational institutions, and community organisations such as sports clubs and churches. We customise our audits to meet your specific needs, offering everything from ASHRAE Type 1 to Type 3 audits.
TYPE 1
Walk-Through Survey
This preliminary assessment provides a basic evaluation of a building’s energy performance. It focuses on identifying opportunities for specific upgrades or projects by gathering targeted information relevant to the planned improvements.
TYPE 2
Energy Survey & Analysis
This audit involves a comprehensive survey of energy use and a detailed analysis of the data collected. It goes beyond the basic walk-through to examine energy consumption patterns, identify inefficiencies, and offer recommendations for improvement.
TYPE 3
Detailed Analysis of Capital-Intensive Modifications

Support Scheme for Energy Audits
The SEAI Support Scheme for Energy Audits (SSEA) offers eligible companies a €2,000 voucher to help cover the cost of an energy audit. The application process is straightforward, with automatic approval for qualifying businesses. This audit will uncover low-cost energy efficiency solutions for your business while also offering a broad overview of more complex energy-saving opportunities.
SI 426 Energy Audit
An SI 426 energy audit is a legal requirement every four years for companies that must comply with this legislation. This applies to businesses with 250 or more employees in Ireland, an annual turnover of €50 million, or an off-balance sheet exceeding €43 million. The audit report must cover at least 85% of the organisation’s total energy usage.

Our Process
Your Energy Auditing Journey Made Easy
From our first conversation to the final audit handover, we make the entire process seamless and straightforward, keeping you informed about your energy needs every step of the way.
STEP 1
Desktop Analysis
This initial phase involves a thorough review of historical energy data and all relevant documents, such as floor plans, asset registers, equipment specification sheets, and M&E design files.
STEP 2
Site Survey(s)
During the site survey, we’ll need access to all areas, particularly plant and boiler rooms. This allows us to break down onsite energy consumption, identify significant energy users, and assess the building’s fabric and other critical elements.
STEP 3
Report Write-Up
The next phase is compiling the energy audit report. This report will detail the audit’s findings, review your existing energy consumption, establish a baseline year, analyse energy trends over twelve months, benchmark performance, identify significant energy users, and outline a register of opportunities.
STEP 4
Presentation/Report Review
In the final step, we’ll go over the report with you, either through a presentation, phone call, online meeting, or onsite visit. We’ll help you understand the findings and discuss potential next steps.
