Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is a One Stop Shop?
A One Stop Shop (OSS) is an SEAI-approved service where a single registered provider manages your entire home energy upgrade from start to finish.
As an SEAI-registered One Stop Shop, SE Systems handles your Home Energy Assessment, upgrade design, grant applications, installation, and final BER certification across Ireland.
The scheme is open to homeowners, non-corporate landlords, and Approved Housing Bodies. Your property must be built and occupied before 2011 and have a BER rating of B3 or lower. You deal with one team throughout, with no need to source or manage contractors separately.
How much can I get in grants?
Through the SEAI One Stop Shop scheme, homeowners can access grants of up to €41,150 depending on property type and the upgrades carried out. The grant covers a wide range of measures, including insulation, heat pumps, solar PV, mechanical ventilation, heating controls, and more.
SE Systems assesses your home, identifies every grant you are eligible for, and manages the full SEAI application process to ensure you receive the maximum support available.
The grant is deducted upfront from the cost of works, so you only pay the outstanding balance.
Do I need to manage contractors myself?
No. That is the core purpose of the SEAI One Stop Shop service.
SE Systems coordinates every contractor, trade, and inspection involved in your retrofit, from the initial Home Energy Assessment through to final BER certification. We oversee all works to SEAI standards, ensure each upgrade is installed correctly and on schedule, and handle all grant paperwork on your behalf.
You have a single point of contact throughout the project and one team accountable for the result from start to finish.
How long does the process take?
Timelines depend on the scope of your upgrade. A single measure, such as attic or wall insulation, can be completed relatively quickly once SEAI grants are approved.
A full deep retrofit, covering measures such as heat pump installation, insulation, solar PV, and mechanical ventilation, typically takes several months from the initial Home Energy Assessment through to final BER certification. Because SE Systems manages the entire One Stop Shop process, we sequence and coordinate all work to minimise delays.
We provide a clear project timeline at the outset and keep you updated at every stage.
Where do I start?
The first step is a Home Energy Assessment conducted by an SEAI-registered assessor. This gives you a full picture of your home’s current energy performance, identifies the upgrades needed to reach a B2 BER rating, and outlines the grants available to you through the One Stop Shop scheme.
SE Systems will arrange your assessment. It costs €550 (VAT included), and a €350 SEAI grant is available when you proceed with a full retrofit. Contact our team, and we will walk you through every step of the process.
