Dunleer Sustainable Energy Community (SEC) was established in 2015 by a group of like-minded people who were looking to create sustainable energy awareness and deliver sustainable solutions into local homes. SE Systems and Dunleer SEC have been working in partnership together since 2016. Together we have retrofitted over 400 homes, as well as community buildings and local businesses under the SEAI’s Community Energy Grant Program.

Dunleer are leading the way when it comes to what SEC’s can achieve. They have set up the Energy Team which is based in the Market House in Dunleer. This base allows them to assist residents who wish to apply for SEAI grants for Deep Retrofits. They also deliver educational programs on energy efficiency and are currently developing a centre for excellence for Climate Change.  Energy Team have also gone on to become SEC mentors and are assisting other SEC’s to carry out energy retrofitting projects as well as forging relationships with Louth County Council.

The Energy Team receives ongoing support from SE Systems through mentoring, training, demonstration, and collaboration to deliver energy saving projects and SEAI grant facilitation through the Community Energy Grant.
