Overview
Santa Claus’ home and workshop form one of the busiest and most complex operational environments in the world. The Claus residence is a traditional family home, while the workshop is a high-energy production facility that supports a large workforce of elves and year-round toy manufacturing.
Both buildings were struggling with heat loss, high energy consumption and rising operational demands. Santa wanted a modern, energy-efficient North Pole that would keep his family warm at home and support steady production in the workshop, especially as Christmas approached.
The Challenge
The Claus home had become increasingly difficult to heat, with an F BER rating and noticeable draughts across key living spaces. Comfort levels were low, running costs were high, and Mrs Claus wanted a healthier indoor environment for both the family and visiting helpers.
The workshop faced its own challenges. The building was losing heat through the roof and fabric, ventilation was inadequate, and the energy system could not support the increasing production needs of the elves. Downtime was not an option.
